I hope you are enjoying a day off. Let’s not forget the real reason for this holiday! Please take a moment to thank a vet or soldier on active duty for their service to this country. Take a moment to say a prayer for those who gave their lives for our freedom and rights.
Today’s look features a long white with black trim vest which I think dressed up this otherwise casual look of a plain white pocket tee, heels and distressed jeans. I’ve wanted a long vest for sometime now and I’m really pleased with this one. Being that it is black and white, I can pair it with so many other looks. Over a sheath dress, or with a graphic tee and denim for example. I am also really wanting a sleeveless trench coat and an olive utility vest but can’t seem to run into any ones I like. So I guess I’ll just have to keep scouring the net 🙂 See you soon friends, make it a good one!
The second week of every month is a long one because in addition to my usual two jobs and gym time, I have obligations to attend a monthly networking/professional development event and host a new member orientation for the professional organization I’m a member of. I’m dead tired and we are only on Wednesday LOL. Today’s OOTD features a simple black pencil skirt and striped shirt with nude heels. A little workplace chic, you can certainly add a cardigan or blazer to the look if going without is too casual for your particular work environment and exchange the heels for a black pump of some sort. You can even add a pop of color as I typically love to do. Pencil skirts are very versatile and flattering on any body type, I’d personally love to rock this one with one of those lovely bow blouses that are trending now. Here’s looking towards the weekend, see you again soon dolls!

Today, I want to share some work place fashion inspiration. These looks are based off of my closet staples that I’ve worn on the blog. Let’s begin with the first look, which features a peplum top and pencil skirt, two things I wear quite often. I love peplum tops, they come in a variety of styles and textures, so even if you own a few of them, they don’t all look the same. The second look is a tunic dress with a pop of color. If you’ve noticed, I love to insert a pop of color into my outfits. Whether it’s a monochromatic look or one that could simply use an accent color; bright colors add a touch of needed flavor to almost anything you wear. You can’t beat a midi skirt with stripes as shown in the third look! Stripes are great paired with other patterns and are also another trick for breaking up monochromatic looks. I always have a lot of files and books on me, so I typically have to carry at least one large tote bag. So for those days when I want to wear a clutch to work, it has to double as my wallet. I will use my Coach briefcase bag seen here for my big items and put the clutch inside of it, pulling it out for those moments I want to give my work place look a transition to after 5 attire. Happy hours & professional mixers are perfect for this! The great thing about each of these items is that you can remix them in many ways! For example, the windowpane tunic can be remixed as a top under a pleated or leather midi skirt. What are some of your work place closet staples? Until next time! Kisses! Besos! Bisous!
