I’m sorry I’ve been so sporadic with my blog post! Truth is, I’m learning to not let myself get stressed out and bogged down with the idea that I have to post daily or even weekly. At the end of the day, it’s probably more important for me to get content that I truly like out there rather than throwing anything up there. Secondly, I need to stop to smell the roses and my life is such at this point that I need to cut back on things in order to simply have fun. So, if that means skipping a blog post every now and again or cutting back job #2 and dedicating fewer hours daily to it..then so be it! All work and no play makes for such a dull Daphnee. I hope even though I may not be around as much that you guys still will rock with me, I so appreciate whenever you stop by. Thanks so much for the support.
As for today’s looks, we all love a camisole to dress up our jeans, skirts and whatever else we are wearing they are a quick and easy way to step up a look. Camisole dresses are spring and summer perfect as well. Such a light airy material and look great with just about any pair of shoes you can find from flip flops to sneakers and ankle boots. You can pair them with a leather jacket, blazer or kimono if you care to as well. Who would not want such a versatile piece in your closet?!
Glad to see you back and still holding strong during this hectic work week! Today is a flashback at my looks from the month of October. I see that my floral heels and high waist Gap jeans were on repeat performance and I actually love both looks. Stripes always seem to make their way into every month I think. Here in muggy South Florida, October brought us at least 2 weeks of tropical weather which was wonderful. It was never too hot and even better it was humidity free. That ended some time last week but it was certainly good while it lasted! I hear there is a cold front looming in the horizon, I can’t wait! Have a great one 🙂
Last week was tough! I was sick as a dog all week, I forced myself to go to work the first three days but it seemed that by the end of each day I was feeling worse not better; so eventually I had to bite the bullet and stay home to take care of myself and get some rest. I’m still not at 100% , but I’m definitely better than I was! Today I am wearing some favorites from GAP. This eyelet peplum top is an easy transition piece from the summer into the fall season. It’s light enough for Florida’s moody weather blues all year long and can be layered for the 2.5 days where it actually drops below 60 degrees here. My accessories add a bit of spice to this look with the pops of pink. I actually love Gap denim, they fit me well and I’m obsessed with their high waist options. I’ve got my eyes on these pairs here and here. Hope you guys have an awesome Monday.
The second week of every month is a long one because in addition to my usual two jobs and gym time, I have obligations to attend a monthly networking/professional development event and host a new member orientation for the professional organization I’m a member of. I’m dead tired and we are only on Wednesday LOL. Today’s OOTD features a simple black pencil skirt and striped shirt with nude heels. A little workplace chic, you can certainly add a cardigan or blazer to the look if going without is too casual for your particular work environment and exchange the heels for a black pump of some sort. You can even add a pop of color as I typically love to do. Pencil skirts are very versatile and flattering on any body type, I’d personally love to rock this one with one of those lovely bow blouses that are trending now. Here’s looking towards the weekend, see you again soon dolls!
Uugh, who do we petition to strike Mondays from the calendar? I totally hate them, except for the rare occasions that we have them off. Four day work weeks are where it’s at, the closer we start to Friday, the happier I will be LOL.
As most of you are, I am stripes obsessed! I was so excited style this little number from Choies. I couldn’t wait to wear it, but every time I would plan on it last week, the weather had other plans. It literally rained off and on every day here in S. Fl. This weekend was the first burst of consistent sunshine we’ve had and even so it was super humid, but I got my wish 🙂 . Because it’s black and white you can style this dress with so many other colors in your pumps and handbags. It would also look awesome with a moto jacket, an olive utility vest, various color blazers and sneakers or sandals rather than heels..you can really take this dress in many different directions. Wrap a summer plaid around your waist for a bit of pattern mixing. Wear a cute straw fedora..the possibilities are endless 🙂 Doesn’t that make for the perfect find? A piece you can reinvent over and over again!
It’s almost here, the day that people are hustling and bustling in the malls doing last-minute shopping for! The day that all children look forward to because they can’t wait to see what Santa has gotten them. Some of us travel home to family, while others don’t have very far to go! The very thought of Christmas fills our minds and hearts with such warmth and love, it’s the best time of the year even if we burned holes in our pockets trying to put smiles on the faces of our loved ones. As an adult something always feels extra special about waking up on Christmas morning, it’s like someone put a bit of magic in our hearts, that gets activated on December 25th. Here’s to hoping that Santa brings you your hearts desire and that your day is filled with love, laughter and peace! Merry Christmas friends! Today’s pics are from one of the rare days in S. Fl where it’s cold enough to actually wear a coat, imagine that! 😉 Kisses! Besos! Bisous!
