Packing for a multi-city vacation: Travel Style

Hey guys,

If you are anything like me, than you are the ultimate procrastinator when it comes to traveling. I tend to travel a few times a year and my trips can range anywhere from an extended weekend to a 7-14 day trek. As much as I love to travel, my procrastination gives me so much anxiety the days leading up to any trip.  I am such the last-minute packer! I like to spend time packing mentally before I actually pull things out of my closet. When I finally pack, it’s either late the night before I leave or literally the morning of, depending on how late my flight is.  Then I over pack!

Back in the day I used to have a full bag full of shoes and way more outfits than I needed. This always resulted in cumbersome check in processes and fees or  sitting at the security gate transferring things from one bag to another in order to get my suitcase to fit the damn box that measures how big your luggage should be.  My packing style made an already stressful process even worse!

I’ve gotten so much better these days, as I’ve learned to streamline my packing style.  Now instead of a bag full of shoes and outfits packed for those just in case moments, I’ve learned how to mix and match with just a few key pieces and some neutral toned shoes and minimal accessories. This week I’m traveling to Atlanta for a week and  leave to spend another week on Martha’s Vineyard. For this multi-city trip, I had to not only find some great mix and match pieces, but also pack clothing that would be suitable for both environments. One being a metropolitan city and the other a beach town.

Staple pieces in my outfit rotation:

4 necklaces

3 shorts

3 pairs of shoes

I like to use the rolling technique to pack my clothes, I find that it keeps them wrinkly free and is a great way to pack and still have space. I layer the bottom of my suitcase with my shoes and then stack like pieces in a pile and roll them. I was able to free half of my luggage space for my toiletries and make up back which sat right on top of the shoes. Easy peasy!

Kisses! Besos! Bisous!
