I’ve been so off and on with this blog, it’s starting to feel like a turbulent relationship on its way out LOL. You won’t be seeing much of me on here, but I will be trying to keep up with my social media accounts as school gets back into full swing. TRY being the operative word. I’ve just really come to the realization that it’s better to step back, rather than stress constantly about posting and taking pics and such. On vacation, I drive my family crazy and it takes away from just relaxing. People who aren’t bloggers just don’t get the obsession LOL. This isn’t good-bye, but more so of a let’s check in with each other every now and again!
PS: Rachelle wore this pink floral dress one of the times we hung out and I instantly fell in love with it! It’s no longer on sale at ASOS but they constantly have similar styles for sale.
So S. FL is humidity is back in full effect. Can’t say that neither my hair nor I have missed it. Ugh! The frizzy swollen curls are a no bueno but oh well..you rock a bad hair day with confidence nevertheless! LOL. I love this stripes + fringe look today, which is an easy transitional outfit for winter into the spring, where there might still be a chill in the air even though it’s warm enough to ditch the coat and heavier winter gear. This vest from Madonna’s Material Girl collection really sets the tone for this look. I love this piece in particular because when it gets a bit warmer, I can easily pair it with denim shorts or a cute flare skirt. The material isn’t heavy at all and has sheer paneling on the sides. Paired with this striped tee and fringe bag, I can go straight from the work place to an early dinner date with a hottie. (wink, wink). Have an amazing work week guys!
I want to say Happy Monday, but I have a snarl on my face right now LMAO!! As I have to un-glue myself from my mattress every Monday morning to begrudgingly start the work week, I hope it goes by faster than last week did! The weekend was fairly nice, Friday I met up with a friend of mine I haven’t seen in a long while! She has married and had a child since last we hung out and is trying to get her ‘girl’ time back on track. It’s so important not to lose your own sense of identify when you take on the additional hats of ‘wife’ and ‘mom’. We all need our time to unwind and hangout with friends. It’s great to have supportive hubbies and other family members that can allow for a day off every now and again. Saturday, I spent some time with another married friend of mine, and finally on Sunday had brunch with my single gal pals. I really had the goal of getting out of the house more this year and I must say, I am keeping up with it 🙂
I’ve wanted a chambray dress for the longest time but I could never seem to find one that I liked. I just happened to be shopping for something specific at Express when I happened to spot this number on the way to the dressing room. Chambray dresses are pretty versatile, so it wasn’t a bad find at all. I always love the layered look of rocking a moto jacket with a flannel shirt tied to the waist, so being that there was an extra chill in the air in Newport Beach, Cali on this day, I opted for this look. As the weather returns to normal around these parts, I’ll have to find other ways to wear this, probably with some stacked heels, wedges and even sneakers. Hope you guys have an amazing start to your week!
I am soo0 late getting this post live. It’s been such a busy fun packed weekend, I was never home long enough to get my act together until now. Today is rest day, for tomorrow I go back to work! Today’s look is perfect for date night. Funny I would even pick this topic since it’s been so long since I’ve been on a date that I can hardly remember what those are! LOL Anyone else going through the same dry spell? Please don’t tell me I’m all alone in this! For first dates especially, it’s important to keep it simple, classy yet subtly sexy. Leave something to the imagination but show him what you’re working with, a bit, with a nice pair of distressed skinny jeans that hug in all the right places! Ladies, show him what all these months of squats and deadlifts at the gym have gotten you! WINK WINK 🙂 This is also where any portofino top from Express comes in, they give your denim a nice dressed up vibe paired with a hot pair of heels. Don’t make them too high though, unless you’re use to walking in 5 inch heels because the last thing you want to do in front your potential beau is stumble or fall. GASP! Leopard is always a great mix with mostly any pattern or color top. Here’s hoping that 2016 ends our dating dry spell and may we all find a handsome and nice hunk of a man to have many a date night with! Cheers to us friends!
Today’s post is the stripes & tassels look I wore to our blogger meet up in California. You have probably seen the group shot on all of our blogs and social media by now. I gave you tidbits of this meetup in one of my first post back from vacation. On this day the weather started off gorgeous but the temperature did drop a bit by the end of the evening. Even still, it was such a fun time and we were all in the parking lot afterwards taking outfit pics for our perspective blogs. Here I’m wearing a fairly new addition to my ever-growing portofino collection in stripes. Paired with my now favorite pair of distressed denim and these uber hot heels from Steve Madden. Finally the look is polished with the addition of this moto jacket I found on sale at Express. Moto jackets are both edgy and sexy, I wish it were cool enough weather wise to wear them more here. Sigh. I hope you guys have an amazing week, see you around the web!
Fringe is definitely one of the hottest trends out right now. I have lusted over the Aquazzura Wild Thing fringe heel since their release. However, I was leery of spending so much money on this particular pair of heels, so I began to search for a more budget friendly pair. Trends are only HOT until their NOT so why spend big bucks? When I found these pair by Steve Madden, I couldn’t order them fast enough. They had just as much sex appeal without giving your wallet a heart attack. They also come in a few different colors, I’ve got my eye on the cobalt blue ones…oh my! I opted for this nude color because you can pair nude with a variety of colors and living in S. Florida, I can wear these year round with the rare exception of the 2.5 days the temperature here falls below 60.
Today I’m rocking them with one of my favorite midi skirts and another denim shirt. This one being a lighter wash. This outfit reminded me of those cotton commercials starring Carrie Underwood , can I just tell you how utterly comfortable this look is! You can’t go wrong with a look that meets the 3 C’s chic, comfortable and cheap (well within reason!). Happy Humpday guys…see you back around here again soon!
It was nice to have a few days off but now it’s back to the hustle and bustle of the work week. Hope you enjoyed your Turkey Day and time with family and friends. 🙂 Today I’m wearing this dark denim wash blouse I picked up on sale from Ann Taylor Loft some time ago and paired it with my black tulle skirt. I really need to add some more chambray/denim pieces to my wardrobe. I’d love to have a variety of washes. As for the tulle skirt, I recently had it altered. It used to be a midi skirt reaching well below my knees but I prefer it above the knee and felt like it would look better on me at this length. That’s something I tend to do to clothes I’ve had for a bit and no longer wear as much. I re-purpose them somehow with a slight alteration and fall in love with them all over again. Other pieces I wonder what the heck I was thinking when I initially couldn’t live without them and send them off for donation. Do you ever tweak or find new ways to wear old pieces? Which ones have been your favorite remixes?

Happy Veteran’s Day to anyone visiting me today who has served or is currently serving. I salute and appreciate you!
I have an affinity for black and white as you can see if you follow me on IG, I wear a lot of it. Hence why this contrast piping portofino is my favorite one out of my meager collection. I’ve worn it so many times and I swear I have not run out of bottoms to rock it with. Black and white goes with everything, so I guess it’s not so crazy that’s it’s my go to for a lot of my looks. I’m off today so it’ll be great to catch up with a lot of my friends in blog land. Happy Wednesday! 🙂
I’m so lying! 😛 The first day back after the weekend is always the hardest isn’t it!? This weekend I played around with some recipes my trainer gave me. I am the first to admit that I hate to cook, and hate being in the kitchen..I really wish the food just magically appeared when I’m hungry. Trust me, if I ever strike it rich the first thing I’m getting is a cook! One of the recipes was for a Paleo version of a Danish meatloaf . It was delicious. I also tried my hand at baking some ginger spice brownies and these were an epic fail…so there is hope for me as a cook but the baking thing may take a little longer 🙂
I got some goodies in the mail this week from Express, they only sent me half my order so I’m looking forward to package number two. Something about getting packages in the mail is way more gratifying then coming home with them in bags. Tracking the package and then coming home to it, is like waiting for Santa to deliver your Xmas gift. This bow neck shirt dress I’m wearing today is from Forever 21. It was a lot more sheer than I expected but still super cute! I could see wearing it with some over the knee boots if the weather here was cool enough to permit it. I hardly want to buy a pair for fear that I’ll only be lucky enough to wear them once and not get my moneys worth!

It’s finally the end of the week and I have to say I feel pretty beat up! Last night I had a particularly grueling workout session with my trainer there were a few moments where I wanted to give up and others where I felt like I was going to lose my stomach contents! LOL Can you call into work sick after your trainer kicks your a$$? 🙂
I call this skirt my Beetlejuice skirt LOL, I paired it with a chambray shirt and really love the finished look. Why can’t we get enough of stripes? I swear every time I see a striped shirt, I want to buy it. Doesn’t matter that I already have a few in my closet. No two shirts fit me the same so I feel like I’m justified in my urges. Tonight I am going out to a mixer with a few of my friends, I hope I make it. I’m usually a member of the “Walking Dead” when I finally make it home on Friday nights, it’s as if the weight of the world finally comes crashing down on me. Wish me luck friends! Have a great weekend!
