Stripes + Fringe

Hey guys,

So S. FL is humidity is back in full effect. Can’t say that neither my hair nor I have missed it. Ugh!  The frizzy swollen curls are a no bueno but oh well..you rock a bad hair day with confidence nevertheless! LOL. I love this stripes + fringe look today, which is an easy transitional outfit for winter into the spring, where there might still be a chill in the air even though it’s warm enough to ditch the coat and heavier winter gear. This vest from Madonna’s Material Girl collection really sets the tone for this look. I love this piece in particular because when it gets a bit warmer, I can easily pair it with denim shorts or a cute flare skirt.  The material isn’t heavy at all and has sheer paneling on the sides. Paired with this striped tee and fringe bag, I  can go straight from the work place to an early dinner date with a hottie. (wink, wink). Have an amazing work week guys!

Hey guys,

I feel like I’ve been away for months! Thanks so much to all of you who have left messages of condolences here on the blog and via IG. I truly appreciate your words of support and encouragement. These last few weeks have been very tough on my family and I. My dad has been laid to rest in his beloved country of Haiti and he is surely at peace.  I am trying to get back to somewhat of a normal pattern again but it’s taking me some time so please bear with me if I disappear every now and again. This healing process is something else 🙂

I had this post ready some time ago and since then the dresses I linked have sold out. My apologies, but the look pretty much works with any LBD you have in your closet. Can I tell you how much I love this vest!! It can be worn with so many other pieces, and I really like the touch of dressiness it can add to any look, be it a tee and jeans with heels, a dress or a pair of shorts..heck even some tights. The lapel gives it a tuxedo appeal and I added a couple of brooches to dress it up further. I look forward to visiting my friends out in blog land this week. Take care everyone 🙂

It’s Black… It’s White

Happy Monday,

As I sit here certain body parts are screaming at me! My fingers for one because I spent the majority of the weekend writing and typing. My arms, from my workouts this week and my poor feet from working the AnkaraMiami Fashion week  event on Saturday. Needless to say I had a blast! I will be doing a ‘highlights from the show’ post sometime soon, but I have been putting up random pics from the Designer Showcase on Saturday on my IG page. I had the pleasure of interviewing and taking pictures of beautiful people for an ‘Eye on Fashion’ segment for the evening. Every look was vibrant with color and detail, even the audience was a sea of beauty in every color of the rainbow and hues in between. I am honored to have worked this event and met so many kind and beautiful souls. The founder Evelyn O is true visionary and it’s been great working with her and her team.  This weekend has me to thinking about how many wonderful folks I’ve met due to this blogging thing! It’s truly amazing.

Today’s look is a repeat of some pieces I’ve worn in various forms before. Seems we bloggers have been in a black and white mood as of late but can you blame us? The colors are a classic WIN WIN! I hope you like, let’s converse below in the comment section! I always enjoy hearing from you! Until next time pretties! Kisses! Besos! Bisous!

TGIF Friends!

First week of February..DONE! This month is going to be equally as busy as it was for me in January, I will not have my Saturdays back until the end of this month. Next week, I’m off to Naples, FL for a 3-day training. This one is being sponsored by the Florida Dept. of Education and upon completion I will be eligible to facilitate trainings for teacher mentors. Teachers who host student interns in their classrooms. It’ll be an intensive 3 days but I am keeping my eyes on the prize which is fattening up my résumé and gaining experience so I will later be more employable as a staff development trainer. Speaking of Naples though, I thought I would find some pretty reasonably priced hotels there, because after all who is flocking to Naples? Imagine how dumbfounded I was to learn that this was far from the truth, the hotels are PRICEY and I found out that Naples is one of the richest cities in America. Home to a lot of millionaires. Well DAMN, can a sistah get a couple of nights at a hotel without breaking the bank?  Ugggh…so anyway to cut cost I’ll be staying with family in Fort Myers which is a 30 minute drive away.  Hopefully I’ll be able to take some pics for you guys (crosses fingers). Until next time loves! Kisses! Besos! Bisous!

Firmoo Sophistication

Happy Monday dolls,

So quite a few of you commented on the frames I was rocking in my post last Friday, so today I wanted to focus on them a bit. When the kind folks at Firmoo contacted me and offered me a pair of glasses to review, I was ecstatic! I’ve been known to rock a dope pair of non prescription specs from time to time and Firmoo had quite a few cute ones to choose from. They also offer the frames I’m wearing and many others in prescription lens. These particular ones came processed with 1.57 index lenses, anti-radiation and UV coatings. If you are in the market for new glasses they also offer the FIRST PAIR FREE PROGRAM for new customers.  My experience with Firmoo was easy and quick! I was able to go online and browse through a wide selection of frame. But wait, even better I was able to upload a pic of myself and virtually try on the frames which was very helpful as sometimes, I may love a pair of frames but they aren’t right for my face shape. Once I selected my frames, it didn’t take very long to arrive in the mail. My glasses came complete with a nice case, lens cloth, a spare screw and screwdriver made for eyeglass repairs. So friends, what do you think of my specs? Are they chic or nah? Until next time! Kisses! Besos! Bisous!
