Holy cow, May is over with guys! I have about 4 days left and the 2014-15 school year will be a wrap! As always the start of a new month brings the outfit recap. Here is a look-see of this months looks! My favorites are pics #1 , #2 and #4. Keeping it short and sweet today, see you guys on Wednesday right back here! 🙂

I can’t tell you how many times I put items in my virtual shopping cart in the last couple of days only to hit the X on the tab and log off. LOL. Either I just wasn’t feeling that passionate about any one item or I was just being cheap, who knows! *Shrugs* 🙂
Today I’m rocking another pair of ankle pants this time from J.Crew. I absolutely love this pair because green is one of my favorite colors. I really love the way it pops against my complexion. This green portofino is literally my first one from Express. I have since added a second one to my wardrobe but I will never be able to compete with a few of you lovelies (namely Rachelle, Gina, Denise and Caryl <3 )! You ladies do however inspire me tremendously so I do hope you like this choice of color! Have a great hump day friends!
The second week of every month is a long one because in addition to my usual two jobs and gym time, I have obligations to attend a monthly networking/professional development event and host a new member orientation for the professional organization I’m a member of. I’m dead tired and we are only on Wednesday LOL. Today’s OOTD features a simple black pencil skirt and striped shirt with nude heels. A little workplace chic, you can certainly add a cardigan or blazer to the look if going without is too casual for your particular work environment and exchange the heels for a black pump of some sort. You can even add a pop of color as I typically love to do. Pencil skirts are very versatile and flattering on any body type, I’d personally love to rock this one with one of those lovely bow blouses that are trending now. Here’s looking towards the weekend, see you again soon dolls!
By the end of today, I will literally have 17 days left to the school year. I’m beyond excited! I see an abundance of “me” time, girl time and single girl time in the near future! I’ll probably spend the first week being the biggest bum you’ve ever seen LOL (DJM). Today’s look features this cool graphic tee I got from the Natural Hair Expo I blogged about here. What is Black Girl University you ask? It’s educating yourself about your roots (your hair roots that is!). This whole revolution of women, specifically black women falling in love with their hair for the first time is fairly new. For years we have always gotten the message from outside and from within that our kinky, curly, coily hair wasn’t straight enough, long enough, or silky enough and we brought into it HEAVY. Obsessed with perms, hot combing, flat ironing…you name it, we’ve done it… from weaves and beyond. I’m sure all women can relate to some extent, especially those of you who have naturally curly hair. Wash day alone is a cumbersome task OMG! Having to wash thick curly hair is no joke. Black women are and have become much more educated about our natural hair and many are proud to rock it in all it’s glory. My journey has been a process as well, I’m still learning so much about my hair and what it likes and dislikes (yes, she has a mind of her own!). No two heads of hair are alike but whether your coils are loose or tightly wound…we are all becoming BGU graduates with a new-found degree in self-love!
Hope everyone had a fun relaxing weekend! I’m going to keep today’s post short and sweet because oddly enough, my poor fingers are killing me. Hazards of spending hours working on a computer I suppose. I seriously feel like I need to pay to have a great hand massage.
Today’s look features the cutest peplum top from Choies.com. They have a great selection of super cute items to choose from. My only piece of advice would be to order a size up from your regular size as Asian sizes run small. I decided to pair the top with denim skinny jeans and a pair of floral pumps. I fell in love with this top because it has three things that I love chambray, stripes and the peplum look, to find them all combined in one top was exciting! LOL. I’m sure I will get a lot of use out of this top over the spring and summer seasons. What do you have your eye on for this season? Kisses! Besos! Bisous!
Thanks for stopping by! Today features a couple of rockin’ hats from Fanatics , an online shop for everything sports, specializing in apparel. Here in South Florida we are huge sports fans both men and women. As much as I love to support the Miami Heat , I can never forget my hometown teams back in Boston where I’m from (Go Pats! , Go Celtics! , Go Bruins! , Go Red Sox!). In undergrad my college was in walking distance from Fenway Park, so I’ve been to plenty of Red Sox games as well as hung out at the billiards and clubs on Lansdowne Street. Of course we fashionistas will rock sports apparel, but we still have to put our stylish flair and spin on things. So, I’ve created a couple of sets around some cool hats from Fanatics. Keeping in mind that you can show your team spirit at a multitude of spots in your city outside of the actual stadium/arena I’ve added a couple of shoe options for the occasion 🙂 Are you or any of your loved ones sports Fanatics? Then you have to check them out! Represent your teams in the comment section below! Kisses! Besos! Bisous!

I love Erica & Brooke of Pumps & Push Ups, and have been following their blog for a pretty long time. I can totally relate to the fashion and healthy lifestyle aspects of it so you can imagine how excited I was when they presented me with the opportunity to style something from their Pumps & Push Ups: The Collection online boutique. I chose the gorgeous Everly: Made For You Midi Skirt, and I must say, it is as beautiful in person as it was on the site. The material was just the right amount of heavy so that you can’t see through the skirt but had enough flow and movement for the upcoming spring months. The pleated front caught my eye and definitely added a touch of chic to this piece. I can certainly pair it with a variety of tops from camis, box tops, to sweaters and everything in between. Today I decided to rock it with a pin stripe button down shirt and chunky necklace. I undid all but two buttons on the shirt so I can sport a tank underneath. I really like the finished product! What do you think? Until next time dolls…Kisses! Besos! Bisous!
I’m glad to say this week has flown by! I swear on Wednesday for the majority of the day I thought it was Tuesday lol, imagine my excitement when I realized that I was a day behind! On a not too positive note guys, I’ve been in a total slump all of this week and haven’t felt like taking pics at all. I’ve considered some alternative topics to post about to take a week off from posting pics of myself…I’m just in a fashion slump now and can’t seem to muster up the inspiration. You know you need a fashion intervention when you WANT to shop and can’t muster up the energy to actually do it, or can’t find anything you want to actually buy. I totally want to spend the week in a pair of joggers and a tee, curled up watching television and pigging out. *Sigh* I guess we’ll have to see what happens. Has this ever happened to you guys? If so, how did you get out of your funk/slump? I may need a moment of blogger therapy….who has a comfy couch I can lay in and vent!
As for this look today, this was one of the my last looks that I actually liked and felt motivated to take pics of. I love these olive zippered cargo pants from H&M when I first spotted they were out of my size and I drove to all the H&Ms in S. FL (a total of 3 at the time, we’ve since opened a 4th and all far away from me) and finally found it in West Palm Beach. I don’t regret the drive, because they are totally one of my favorite pairs of pants. How about this necklace, talk about making a STATEMENT! I walked into Aldo and wanted to buy up the shop, they had the cutest accessories for sale, I’m happy to have taken this home. It has a great ethic, tribal vibe to it. Hope you have a stunning weekend! Until next time…kisses! Besos! Bisous!
Glad you’re paying me a visit today. I’m a bit peeved because I took a bunch of my heels to the cobbler to get the bottoms of the heels recapped and this fool took one my favorite pair of heels and ruined them. It was a gorgeous studded pair I got from Zara and now they are trash. So as a result, I’m on the hunt for another fantastic pair of studded heels. I’m saddened ..may they R.I.P in shoe heaven 🙁
On a positive note, I am totally loving this skirt I got from Asos some time ago. This is the first time I’m wearing it. As usual my chambray top has not failed me! I am absolutely in love with the finished look. The skirt is made of a material that is pretty thick, yet has enough sway and is perfect for the cool Florida weather we’ve had lately. There is a fashion mixer going on this Sunday and I’m debating whether I’ll go, I feel like I only have one day off as it is, so I’m a little reluctant to give that up. If I do go, I’ll have to get off my shopping ban to find something fantastic to rock. Oddly enough, that is yet another reason to stay home. I totally don’t feel like shopping. *stops to take temperature and pat forehead * So whether you make it out this weekend or decide to stay home and kick your feet up, here’s looking forward to the weekend! We’re half-way there 🙂 Kisses! Besos! Bisous!
Today’s look is totally a remix. I’ve found that all 3 of these pieces can be paired with a variety of other items and it’ll be fun testing them all out to see if they play as well in real life as they do in my mind! Some of my inspiration definitely comes from Pinterest, and I’ve shared a few of those pics below. Starting with just the skirt, the pink alone pairs well with hues such as yellow, white, black (together and separately) , green, Tiffany blue, navy blue, tan and grey. So far, the two times I’ve worn this skirt, I think I’ve been pretty conservative with my pairings so I’m looking forward to these other match ups. How do you feel about some of the color combos I’ve mentioned with this shade of pink that I’m wearing? Have you tried them before? Looking forward to reading your thoughts and insight! Kisses!
