Today (Sunday) I woke up to the most beautiful weather here in South Florida, whereas back home in Boston it’s snowing! Days like this reassure me that this move I made 18 years ago was a good one. I had an amazing weekend. Spent several hours at the beach with the girls, made a pit stop to Margaritaville that evening, which has only been open for about a year . Finally on Sunday, breakfast at Cracker Barrel and a stroll through the park finished off my weekend. Once I got home it was back to work mode 🙁
It’s Spring, it’s April and we are 40 odd days away from summer vacation here at school. These last days tend to be my favorite. Testing is over and although we are still nervous about how our students fair these are still the best days of the school year..we do a lot of fun project based activities, we have our science fair and our 30 day countdown where each day we have a fun celebratory activity leading towards the last day. Well enough about that…
You never have to look very further than your own closet when transitioning from one season to another. Portofino shirts are a great transition piece as they can be dressed up or down and pair well with several other pieces of clothing no matter the season. The convertible sleeves help on the warmer days and it’s a light weight material. I totally love this casual chic vibe paired with a straw fedora, distressed boyfriend shorts and my trusty white chucks. Have a great work week dolls!
Today’s post is the stripes & tassels look I wore to our blogger meet up in California. You have probably seen the group shot on all of our blogs and social media by now. I gave you tidbits of this meetup in one of my first post back from vacation. On this day the weather started off gorgeous but the temperature did drop a bit by the end of the evening. Even still, it was such a fun time and we were all in the parking lot afterwards taking outfit pics for our perspective blogs. Here I’m wearing a fairly new addition to my ever-growing portofino collection in stripes. Paired with my now favorite pair of distressed denim and these uber hot heels from Steve Madden. Finally the look is polished with the addition of this moto jacket I found on sale at Express. Moto jackets are both edgy and sexy, I wish it were cool enough weather wise to wear them more here. Sigh. I hope you guys have an amazing week, see you around the web!
Here in S. Florida, Mother Nature is slow in getting the memo about the change in seasons. Actually it’s unbearably hot here most days and rainy. Always rainy. It’s starting to feel like we live in the Amazon rain forest. I got these shredded shorts from Necessary Clothing a while back and have gotten so much wear from them. They really have become my go to item, I love the relaxed boyfriend fit of them. The off the shoulder top was a sale purchase from Abercrombie & Fitch early this summer that I absolutely love. What really had me salivating when they came to my door are these pineapple jelly sandals from Sophia Webster. I know most of you have pulled out you fall gear but our summer weather has stretched itself out so why not rock with it, I say!
So I’m officially on summer vacation, another school year under my belt. The first thing I”m looking forward to? Sleeping in! The funny thing is it takes my body some time to get unused to waking up so early, by the time I naturally start sleeping a bit later, it’s time to go back to work.
Today’s look is super casual and comfy as Friday’s work attire typically is. I am totally in love with these red patent Cole Haan loafers. How cute are they? They are also ridiculously easy on the feet. I feel like I’m walking on clouds in these things. I”m not a big loafer fan, but couldn’t resist these, mostly due to the cherry red color. They also come in black, blue , green and tan! Have a great weekend loves!
Happy mid-week friends! Dare I utter any other words that aren’t Friday, Saturday or Sunday LOL. Today’s look features a cute tunic I got on major sale at Express some time ago and it’s always been one of my go-to looks when I’m convinced I’ve not a thing to wear (amidst a closet full of clothes, yah right!). It’s made of a light almost sheer material so isn’t to heavy to wear during the spring and summer months. It pairs pretty well with denim jeans, shorts or culottes. I have these similar toned wedges I got from Ross, that I rarely wear so I gave them a spin as well. Here’s looking towards the weekend!
This weekend was a total snore, I spent most of it either working or running one errand after another in preparation for my week at Naples. I just want to sit down for a minute and breathe for pete’s sake LOL. In other news, this weekend is Valentine’s day, my mom and I are each other’s Valentine’s so we’ll be attending a banquet at my mom’s church. Other than that, I have zero plans and I guess after the week I would have had by then, I’ll be in severe need of nothing to do. 🙂
Today’s look started off with some heels but then I realized I wasn’t really in the mood to wear ’em and threw on my hi-top chucks instead. Somehow even with the chucks on I felt dressed up..could be the leather peplum, and Ruby Woo Mac lipstick. Did I mention how much I love this lipstick!! Oh…and this snazzy scarf I found at H&M some time ago which is a pretty good dupe of the tre expensive Alexander McQueen version definitely added to my feeling dressed up, even with sneakers on. I find the saying on my Zara clutch quite fitting for my current state of being! Hope you like this look! 🙂 See you guys back here again on Wednesday! Kisses! Besos! Bisous!
Glad to see you again, I hope you had a wonderful Christmas with your loved ones! So within a week in true S. Florida fashion we went from wearing coats to not needing them at all LOL. Talk about bi polar weather! I was hoping for a bit of cold for Christmas but no such luck, I’m sure there were folks at the beach yesterday. As for today’s look, notice the pic where I”m making a face as if I’m watching someone take a bad fall..I have no explanation as to why I’m making that face but I still like the pic LOL. Over the course of this year, I’ve accrued a pretty good array of chambray shirts and this one happens to be one of my faves. It’s amazing how many things you can pair with chambray. The other thing about it, is that it actually seems to dress UP your clothes instead of give you a dressed DOWN look. No matter what color you are wearing, if you pair it with chambray, you’ll be set to go. Is anyone else obsessed as I am? Speaking of obsessions, I’d like to formally add a new one to my growing list of addictions, the show “The BlackList”, I started watching season 1 on Netflix and I have to say that I am totally hooked! If you watch it, I’m only on episode 5 so don’t ruin it for me 🙂 Cheers to a great weekend! See you soon! Kisses! Besos! Bisous!
Whew! I can’t tell you how much I’ve been counting down the days, minutes and seconds to the weekend. This week felt like it was NEVER, EVER going to come to an end. So to celebrate, let’s pause for a laugh break!
This is going to be me after school today! LOL
OMG this is so me, I despise Mondays and I love Fridays! LOL
Okay, okay enough horsing around! Back to business (giggles and clears throat) So today’s look I love because I got this lovely distressed denim skirt on clearance at Forever 21. It was less than $10 so there was no way in hell I was going to leave it on the rack baiting me, and I’m glad I didn’t because I absolutely love it. I have never been one to rock denim skirts but go figure you add a few holes in it and I’m suddenly in love. Who knew!! I paired it with stripes on the top and bottom, also added a pop of color and I am very pleased with the outcome. What do you think? Have an awesome weekend divas! Kisses! Besos! Bisous!
OMG! I made it, I could kiss the ground Friday walks on right now! I hope you guys have had a productive and satisfying work week. Cheers to the weekend! Today’s look features a long sleeve peplum top with studded detailing along the neckline. I thought this was enough, that I didn’t really need to rock a necklace. There aren’t too many times you can get away with long sleeves in hot and sunny S. Florida unless you are working in a building where the AC is set on ‘Snow.’ On this day, it was a beautiful breezy and slightly brisk day out. Peplum tops are dressy in and of themselves so you can literally rock them with anything. Whether you desire to dress them up further with a skirt, dress pants or glam them down a bit with a nice pair of jeans. I chose the latter! Distressed jeans and a pop of color in my heels and I was all set to go. I finalized the look with matching pair of chandelier earrings and of course my new go to tote complete with studs. I was very pleased with the final outcome. What do you think? Until next time loves, have a fantastic weekend! Kisses! Besos! Bisous!
