Floral Romper + Fringe : Spring Style

Hi Friends,

This floral romper I found at Forever 21 is the BUSINESS! I absolutely love it. My obsession with rompers are so real. Are they not the cutest things you can wear for the spring and summer? Literally no fuss. Just throw on your favorite pair of shoes and accessories and go. It’s just that simple. You can throw a blazer over them if you like or wear them with a maxi cardi and they still look ridiculously chic. You can throw a skirt of any length over them and make them a top, or rock your favorite pair of distressed denim jeans over them as well. There aren’t too many pieces in your closet that is as versatile as a romper. Who ever thought wearing a one piece adult onesie would be so POSH 🙂

This weekend was filled with good times. Our California squad was back together once again with Jewel in town. My taste buds are still singing from all the wonderful food we have eaten and I’m sure I’m left with a nice pre summer glow from the beach. Now it’s back to the work week. Only 25 days left until my summer vacation officially begins. Have a great week!

Kisses! Besos! Bisous!

Fashionable Eyewear + Giveaway

Hi Guys!

*Insert hard wave here*  Today’s focus is on accessories, in particular eyewear. I’m finding myself developing a bit of a love affair with sunglasses as of late and my obsession is closely mirroring that of my adoration for a hot pair of shoes. Whether you’ve paid a little or a lot for a pair of sunnies, they definitely add to your look! A simple low-key outfit suddenly becomes chic with the right pair of shades, handbag and jewelry.  They are totally made to accentuate your look, however, sometimes they become the focal point like the pair I’m  wearing today. I am in LOVE with these Estelle mirrored aviators from EyeFeelShady. I think they say it best on their website as to what they are about:

“Whether one is an extrovert, introvert or somewhere in between when it comes to sunglasses, Eye Feel Shady has the perfect eyewear for you. Eye Feel Shady specializes in quality sunglasses at affordable prices along with exceptional customer service. Our collection has the latest designs for the vintage junkie, bohemian lover or minimalist just to name a few. Whatever look one may crave, Eye Feel Shady has the perfect sunglasses for you.”

Think Pink

Hello Gorgeous!

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness and I thought I’d pair my fashion post with some information about Cancer and the importance of getting mammograms and administering at home checks. It is very likely that every one of you visiting the blog today know at least one person who has been affected by this disease. I myself have had a scare and have had to start getting mammograms at a young age to monitor a lump in my breast that was found to be non cancerous. I’ve also had my maternal grandmother and one of my aunt’s get diagnosed and have had a mastectomy.  If you aren’t already, I hope this post will encourage you to not only to start doing self exams at home, but to also schedule your annual mammogram if you are at the recommended age.

Understanding Breast Cancer

Cancer is a broad term for a class of diseases characterized by abnormal cells that grow and invade healthy cells in the body. Breast cancer starts in the cells of the breast as a group of cancer cells tat can then invade surrounding tissues or spread (metastasize)  to other areas of the body. Breast cancer is a disease in which malignant (cancer) cells form in the tissues of the breast. The damaged cells can invade surrounding tissue, but with early detection and treatment, most people continue a normal life. (Source: http://www.nationalbreastcancer.org/)

Facts about Breast Cancer in the United States

  • One in eight women will be diagnose with breast cancer in their lifetime.
  • Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women.
  • Breast cancer is the second leading cause of death among women.
  • Each year it is estimated that over 220, 000 women in the United States will be diagnoses with breast cancer and more than 40, 000 will die.
  • Although breast cancer in men is rare, an estimated 2,150 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer and approximately 410 will die each year. (Source: http://www.nationalbreastcancer.org/)

Systems and Signs

Every person should know the symptoms and signs of breast cancer, and any time an abnormality is discovered, it should be investigated by a healthcare professional.

Most people who have breast caner symptoms and signs will initially noticed one or two, and the presence of these symptoms and signs do not automatically mean that you have breast cancer.

By performing monthly breast self-exams, you will be able to more easily identify any changes in your breast. Be sure to talk to your healthcare professional if you notice anything unusual. (Source: http://www.nationalbreastcancer.org/)

Olive Tunic

Hi Guys,

Happy mid-week friends! Dare I utter any other words that aren’t Friday, Saturday or Sunday LOL. Today’s look features a cute tunic I got on major sale at Express some time ago and it’s always been one of my go-to looks when I’m convinced I’ve not a thing to wear (amidst a closet full of clothes, yah right!). It’s made of a light almost sheer material so isn’t to heavy to wear during the spring and summer months.  It pairs pretty well with denim jeans, shorts or culottes.  I have these similar toned wedges I got from Ross, that I rarely wear so I gave them a spin as well.  Here’s looking towards the weekend!

Sheath Dress + Chambray

Happy Hump Day!

I’m super excited as I look through my pics these days, my skin is glowing and looks really great! I really feel like the products by InstaNatural that I’ve added to my skin care regimen have really enhanced the overall health of my face. To read my last product review for InstaNatural click here. I will definitely continue using the Vitamin C serum and moisturizer. There are some other products for skin by this company that I also would love to try out so stay tuned! Another cool day in South Florida, allowed me to rock this black sheath dress with a chambray shirt and booties. All 3 items I’m wearing have been remixed.  I’m telling you ladies, you really don’t realize just how many spectacular combinations you can make with items in your closet until you set your mind to it. I typically wear this sheath dress with a button down white shirt, but I think I love it more with the chambray! With the help of some inspo from Pinterest, I’ve learned a few different ways to pair up a black sheath dress, so you may see me remixing this item again soon! I haven’t shopped for the entire month of January and it’s almost over. I think I can! I think I can! I think I can!  Let’s see if I can keep this up into the month of February. Have a fantastic day dolls!  Kisses! Besos! Bisous!

Hearts + Leather

Hey Loves!

Happy Monday, hope you had a lovely weekend! I laid low for the most part, I saw a couple of movies one of them being “Horrible Bosses 2” and found it to be hilarious! I also spent some time with my mom, furniture shopping and then dinner. My mom has the same sarcastic sense of humor as I do, so needless to say I was in tears laughing the entire time!  Today’s look features an adorable soft chambray heart shirt I purchased from Ann Taylor LOFT recently. With this constant 50% off  sale, they have going on, if I give in to my desires to shop, LOFT would make me give up my entire paycheck to them on a weekly basis LOL. The other piece I love in today’s look are my heels! These are yet another pair from my collection of Sophia Webster shoes, who if you didn’t know is one of my favorite shoe designers. Her shoes are so fun and colorful 🙂  I just need the good folks at Sophia Webster to hook your girl up with a shopping spree so I could go ahead and rack up! Did you notice her killer gladiator heels the Victoria Secret models were rocking during this years fashion show? Until next time! Kisses! Besos! Bisous!

Hey Divas,

OMG! *Kisses the ground*  It’s Friday!!! Whoo! Hoo! *Somersaults* This was the longest week ever, I swear to you! I kid you not when I say that someone unbeknownst to us secretly threw in an extra work day in there somewhere. Now we can all WOOSAH and breathe! Today, I’m sharing a closer look at my outfit from the Natural Hair & Beauty Expo I posted about on Wednesday. Since I knew I would be on my feet all day doing a lot of walking around, I wanted to be comfortable yet still fashionable. It wasn’t what I initially had planned on wearing but once I threw on the chucks, everything else came together around it. I love this pastel pink pleated skirt, I’m always looking for different ways to pair it. Black & White seem to be my go-to pairing so far! Hope you guys have an awesome weekend! Kisses! Besos! Bisous!

Talk Is Cheap + Leather

Hey chicas,

It’s my last week of work before vacation! I have  3.5 days to go and then I’m freeee! South Florida has been experiencing a cold front for a few days..and by cold front I mean we start our days in the low 50s and by 10 a.. it’s 75 degrees lol. Not really cold by Northeast standards, especially not in Boston where I’m from, but cold enough to rock some fall looks for a few extra days! For today’s look I’m rocking leather paneled leggings. I really love the edginess leather brings to any look. I want to also add a pair of full leather leggings to my closet as well. They look good paired with almost anything from something as soft and feminine as a whimsical tunic shirt or a sweater with your favorite button down worn underneath as I have here. A chunky statement necklace and a great pair of booties makes the look complete. I found some other style inspirations on Pinterest that I’ll be trying out as well. Thanks for visiting friends! Until next time. Kisses! Besos! Bisous!

eShakti~Review

Happy Monday loves,

Recently, I was gifted this lovely navy poplin and mesh dress from eShakti that I must say I’m in love with! I was nervous about the fit after I sent them my measurements but the dress exceeded my expectations and it has pockets! LOL I feel like all skirts and dresses should come with pockets, don’t you? I can’t tell you how many compliments I received the day that I wore it and I really love the color and style as well. eShakti has tons of great dresses on their site for sizes 0 – 36 W, when they offered to send me one to review I had the most difficult time narrowing my choice down to one, because so many had caught my eye. However, I am more than pleased with my final choice. My overall experience with the company was very positive.  They kept in contact with me about my order and let me know when the order was placed and shipped. Once shipped the dress was at my door step within 2 days. Their slogan at eShakti is “Real Fashion for Real People” and I think they do a great job of standing by it as well as providing excellent customer service. Check them out they have clothes for virtually every occasion! Until next time loves! Kisses! Besos! Bisous!
