This floral romper I found at Forever 21 is the BUSINESS! I absolutely love it. My obsession with rompers are so real. Are they not the cutest things you can wear for the spring and summer? Literally no fuss. Just throw on your favorite pair of shoes and accessories and go. It’s just that simple. You can throw a blazer over them if you like or wear them with a maxi cardi and they still look ridiculously chic. You can throw a skirt of any length over them and make them a top, or rock your favorite pair of distressed denim jeans over them as well. There aren’t too many pieces in your closet that is as versatile as a romper. Who ever thought wearing a one piece adult onesie would be so POSH 🙂
This weekend was filled with good times. Our California squad was back together once again with Jewel in town. My taste buds are still singing from all the wonderful food we have eaten and I’m sure I’m left with a nice pre summer glow from the beach. Now it’s back to the work week. Only 25 days left until my summer vacation officially begins. Have a great week!
The weather here has been perfect for the last couple of months, not too hot or cold and then this weekend out of no where it was in the 90s. Therefore, I had no choice but to spend it doing activities that provided me with a bit of a cool down. From sipping mango daiquiris to spending time along the river front taking in the scenery, eating good food and watching folks go by on their private yachts and speed boats partying and whooping it up. I’m sure plenty other folks were beach bound but that kind of heat makes me run for cover..being vulnerable under the wrath of the sun’s rays just isn’t appealing to me at all! LOL. I also went to go see the second installment of the Huntsman and was thoroughly disappointed. I loved the first one but the second one was awful 🙁
Sometimes places to catch photo opps just fall into your lap. I was driving by when I saw this colorful bus just parked in a lot with the perfect lighting and it really played off the aztec print mini and barcelona cami I’m rocking. Hope you guys have an amazing week!
I’m sorry I’ve been so sporadic with my blog post! Truth is, I’m learning to not let myself get stressed out and bogged down with the idea that I have to post daily or even weekly. At the end of the day, it’s probably more important for me to get content that I truly like out there rather than throwing anything up there. Secondly, I need to stop to smell the roses and my life is such at this point that I need to cut back on things in order to simply have fun. So, if that means skipping a blog post every now and again or cutting back job #2 and dedicating fewer hours daily to it..then so be it! All work and no play makes for such a dull Daphnee. I hope even though I may not be around as much that you guys still will rock with me, I so appreciate whenever you stop by. Thanks so much for the support.
As for today’s looks, we all love a camisole to dress up our jeans, skirts and whatever else we are wearing they are a quick and easy way to step up a look. Camisole dresses are spring and summer perfect as well. Such a light airy material and look great with just about any pair of shoes you can find from flip flops to sneakers and ankle boots. You can pair them with a leather jacket, blazer or kimono if you care to as well. Who would not want such a versatile piece in your closet?!
Today (Sunday) I woke up to the most beautiful weather here in South Florida, whereas back home in Boston it’s snowing! Days like this reassure me that this move I made 18 years ago was a good one. I had an amazing weekend. Spent several hours at the beach with the girls, made a pit stop to Margaritaville that evening, which has only been open for about a year . Finally on Sunday, breakfast at Cracker Barrel and a stroll through the park finished off my weekend. Once I got home it was back to work mode 🙁
It’s Spring, it’s April and we are 40 odd days away from summer vacation here at school. These last days tend to be my favorite. Testing is over and although we are still nervous about how our students fair these are still the best days of the school year..we do a lot of fun project based activities, we have our science fair and our 30 day countdown where each day we have a fun celebratory activity leading towards the last day. Well enough about that…
You never have to look very further than your own closet when transitioning from one season to another. Portofino shirts are a great transition piece as they can be dressed up or down and pair well with several other pieces of clothing no matter the season. The convertible sleeves help on the warmer days and it’s a light weight material. I totally love this casual chic vibe paired with a straw fedora, distressed boyfriend shorts and my trusty white chucks. Have a great work week dolls!
So S. FL is humidity is back in full effect. Can’t say that neither my hair nor I have missed it. Ugh! The frizzy swollen curls are a no bueno but oh well..you rock a bad hair day with confidence nevertheless! LOL. I love this stripes + fringe look today, which is an easy transitional outfit for winter into the spring, where there might still be a chill in the air even though it’s warm enough to ditch the coat and heavier winter gear. This vest from Madonna’s Material Girl collection really sets the tone for this look. I love this piece in particular because when it gets a bit warmer, I can easily pair it with denim shorts or a cute flare skirt. The material isn’t heavy at all and has sheer paneling on the sides. Paired with this striped tee and fringe bag, I can go straight from the work place to an early dinner date with a hottie. (wink, wink). Have an amazing work week guys!
*Insert hard wave here* Today’s focus is on accessories, in particular eyewear. I’m finding myself developing a bit of a love affair with sunglasses as of late and my obsession is closely mirroring that of my adoration for a hot pair of shoes. Whether you’ve paid a little or a lot for a pair of sunnies, they definitely add to your look! A simple low-key outfit suddenly becomes chic with the right pair of shades, handbag and jewelry. They are totally made to accentuate your look, however, sometimes they become the focal point like the pair I’m wearing today. I am in LOVE with these Estelle mirrored aviators from EyeFeelShady. I think they say it best on their website as to what they are about:
“Whether one is an extrovert, introvert or somewhere in between when it comes to sunglasses, Eye Feel Shady has the perfect eyewear for you. Eye Feel Shady specializes in quality sunglasses at affordable prices along with exceptional customer service. Our collection has the latest designs for the vintage junkie, bohemian lover or minimalist just to name a few. Whatever look one may crave, Eye Feel Shady has the perfect sunglasses for you.”
This week I am happy to provide you with an opportunity to get a pair of these Estelle or another pair of your choice by entering to win via the giveaway below. You can enter to win daily through 03/07/2016 ! Good luck to you and see you soon! So tell me do you make eyewear a part of your daily look?
Okay, I’ll go ahead and put it out there from the beginning. I am obsessed with this waterfall blazer! I found it on final mark down at H&M for a mere $15 and it has become my favorite blazer. I simply love the way it hangs and the ruche sleeves make it perfect to push up to the elbow. You know when you love an article of clothing, you literally want to wear it all the time, like every day? LOL So here I’m sporting it with an over-sized graphic tee from Express and leather leggings also from H&M. What I love about this look is that it may be perfect for a casual Friday at work but you can also take it straight from the workplace to Happy Hour or a Date Night with a handsome somebody.
In other news, now that we’re on the subject of handsome somebodies..one of my goals this year was to leave the house more and put myself out there in hopes of meeting a special someone or at least get back into the dating scene and meeting people. I mean there is no way to meet a nice gentleman if I don’t leave the house right? Last I checked they didn’t make house calls! So, I’ve had a blast just hanging out a bit more and attending events practically every weekend. You don’t realize how much stress you need to release from the work week until you are out there doing it. Sometimes it’s so much easier to just go home and lay on the couch binge watching your favorite TV shows, it’s also extremely safe! That’s always my go-to but I’ve had to kick myself in the tush and commit to this. In order to get what we want out of life we have to be willing to take risk don’t we? So far I haven’t met Mr. Right BUT I must say the search has still been quite fun.
Hope you all had an amazing weekend and wonderful Valentines/Galentines day! The weekend overall was pretty laid back. Had an afternoon of shenanigans with Rachelle and Charnele on Saturday which started off with brunch, a trip to Alex and Ani’s and then ended at the nail spa getting mani/pedis. It was nonstop laughter and trash talking as usual. I got pretty sick mid-week and it carried through the weekend, but that didn’t stop me from leaving the house on Saturday. However, I spent the night with aching bones and found myself in a half sick/half fatigued sleep induced coma by night fall. Today, I’m feeling okay…..so let’s talk about today’s look shall we?
Today’s work place look is a rust + gray combo. It was really the result of needing to find something quick and easy to wear. So I was really aiming for effortless, casual and chic. I think I would wear this again but with a blazer, sleeves pushed up. I think that would give it a more polished look. Here’s to a shortened work week for those of us who have today off!
Kisses! Besos! Bisous!

Today I’m so happy to team up with these gorgeous ladies for this Valentines/Galentines post! To get a jump-start on your Valentines Day look we’re giving away a $50 gift card to Sephora. Good luck to you friends!
When I think of Valentines Day, it’s definitely a commercialized holiday that people go broke trying to keep up with the Jones; when in essence it should be a celebration of love. Love has no real price tag. After all true love is priceless and can’t be brought at all can it? Those of you who are fortunate enough to have fallen in love with your soul mate know exactly what I’m talking about! For those of us who are single, such as myself..the holiday reminds me that there is no love greater than self-love and before we can ever fully open ourselves to loving someone else we must first fall in love with ourselves! So please ladies, whether you are married, dating or single, take a moment this weekend to show yourself some love as well. In fact, make it a habit 🙂 I hope you have an amazing Valentines Day with your loved ones!
Today’s look has me feeling fun, flirty and sexy! I absolutely love this jumpsuit from Express and the way it fits. It’s the perfect get up for a Valentines date with your man or a Galentines celebration with the girls. I paired it with the mandatory red needed for the holiday and I really love the outcome. Oh and don’t worry, I didn’t cut my hair but I did buy this amazingly adorable wig and had my stylist cut it into the style you see here. I feel like a completely different person, which is totally fun!
I want to say Happy Monday, but I have a snarl on my face right now LMAO!! As I have to un-glue myself from my mattress every Monday morning to begrudgingly start the work week, I hope it goes by faster than last week did! The weekend was fairly nice, Friday I met up with a friend of mine I haven’t seen in a long while! She has married and had a child since last we hung out and is trying to get her ‘girl’ time back on track. It’s so important not to lose your own sense of identify when you take on the additional hats of ‘wife’ and ‘mom’. We all need our time to unwind and hangout with friends. It’s great to have supportive hubbies and other family members that can allow for a day off every now and again. Saturday, I spent some time with another married friend of mine, and finally on Sunday had brunch with my single gal pals. I really had the goal of getting out of the house more this year and I must say, I am keeping up with it 🙂
I’ve wanted a chambray dress for the longest time but I could never seem to find one that I liked. I just happened to be shopping for something specific at Express when I happened to spot this number on the way to the dressing room. Chambray dresses are pretty versatile, so it wasn’t a bad find at all. I always love the layered look of rocking a moto jacket with a flannel shirt tied to the waist, so being that there was an extra chill in the air in Newport Beach, Cali on this day, I opted for this look. As the weather returns to normal around these parts, I’ll have to find other ways to wear this, probably with some stacked heels, wedges and even sneakers. Hope you guys have an amazing start to your week!
