Glad to see you back and still holding strong during this hectic work week! Today is a flashback at my looks from the month of October. I see that my floral heels and high waist Gap jeans were on repeat performance and I actually love both looks. Stripes always seem to make their way into every month I think. Here in muggy South Florida, October brought us at least 2 weeks of tropical weather which was wonderful. It was never too hot and even better it was humidity free. That ended some time last week but it was certainly good while it lasted! I hear there is a cold front looming in the horizon, I can’t wait! Have a great one 🙂
Today is my birthday! Instead of posting some pics of me wearing something super hot while posing with some balloons in my hands, I’d like to share some of my favorite birthday memes, gifs and quotes! Also what’s a birthday without a rocking giveaway? Keep reading to find out how you can win some awesome prizes below. Have an amazing day friends!

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness and I thought I’d pair my fashion post with some information about Cancer and the importance of getting mammograms and administering at home checks. It is very likely that every one of you visiting the blog today know at least one person who has been affected by this disease. I myself have had a scare and have had to start getting mammograms at a young age to monitor a lump in my breast that was found to be non cancerous. I’ve also had my maternal grandmother and one of my aunt’s get diagnosed and have had a mastectomy. If you aren’t already, I hope this post will encourage you to not only to start doing self exams at home, but to also schedule your annual mammogram if you are at the recommended age.
Understanding Breast Cancer
Cancer is a broad term for a class of diseases characterized by abnormal cells that grow and invade healthy cells in the body. Breast cancer starts in the cells of the breast as a group of cancer cells tat can then invade surrounding tissues or spread (metastasize) to other areas of the body. Breast cancer is a disease in which malignant (cancer) cells form in the tissues of the breast. The damaged cells can invade surrounding tissue, but with early detection and treatment, most people continue a normal life. (Source: http://www.nationalbreastcancer.org/)

Every person should know the symptoms and signs of breast cancer, and any time an abnormality is discovered, it should be investigated by a healthcare professional.
Most people who have breast caner symptoms and signs will initially noticed one or two, and the presence of these symptoms and signs do not automatically mean that you have breast cancer.
By performing monthly breast self-exams, you will be able to more easily identify any changes in your breast. Be sure to talk to your healthcare professional if you notice anything unusual. (Source: http://www.nationalbreastcancer.org/)
I never really get into dressing up for Halloween, partly because I am a super procrastinator and it takes time and planning to come up with something amazing, scary and still make a fashion statement. I am always amazed with the simple power of makeup artistry and how someone can keep with the spirit of being scary while still maintaining the integrity of their own personal sense of style. Today I am sharing with you some of my faves! From celebrities, to bloggers, MUA’s and the like. What looks are you considering for this upcoming ghoulish season? Have yourselves an amazing weekend, see you next week! 🙂

One of the best things to go shopping for during the summer to fall wardrobe transition are shoes! Flats have really become a hot item over the course of the last few years. Gone are the days of boring flats that are only worn by those that can’t hack it in heels. I love all the masculine inspired ones and lace up ballet flats in a variety of gorgeous hues perfect for the season. Booties , mid calf, knee-high and over the knee boots are also another option, again they come in a variety of styles from the super casual to the dressy. Zippers to fringe, you name it …it’s out there! Shoes can make a statement all on their own and they are so fun to try on and pick out. Before the snow hits the ground in some parts of the country, we can still rock a variety of fall heels; open or close toed is really up to you. Whatever speaks to you, whatever you are in the mood for! Below is a slide show of some of the shoes I’m crushing on. What will you be rocking this Fall, share some of your fave fall footwear choices with me in the comment section below 🙂
So it’s been an exciting few weeks of school. I’ve been spreading myself really thin, staying late after school, working my second job and getting a healthy dose of kick-ass from my personal trainer at the gym. Last Saturday I didn’t wake up until noon! My body is clearly waving the white flag and begging me to sit still if only for a few hours. We almost had a hurricane come through but Ms. Erika decided to dissipate before she came to us here in Florida.
I have way too many pics from my European vacation. I’ve spread them out among my post here and on IG, but I still have tons more. The trip feels like it happened ages ago so I couldn’t caption and label every single pic, therefore I decided against doing it at all. I’ve been asked why I fell in love with London? This year alone I’ve had two friends visit London right before and after me and we all feel the same. The city has such a welcoming vibe and a hustle and bustle about it that instantly makes you feel both comfortable and at home. The people are great and so is the food. I loved the diversity of the city and it just left me wanting to see and explore more. I hope to make it back one day, until then I have my memories! Hope you enjoy both cities through my lens!
Today I am excited to partner with Warby Parker an eyeglass company for their #SEESUMMERBETTER campaign. Their sunglasses start at just $95 and include free shipping and returns. Your purchase would also be doing something good in the community; as every pair you buy provides a free pair to someone in need. Another great thing about this company is they have a Home Try-On program where you can test wear 5 frames and decide on the ones you want to keep and simply return the rest. I am taking some shots from my vacation travels this summer and pairing them with some stunning shades from their collection.

Avenue des Champs-Élysées in Joplin shades
If you ever find yourself in Paris, Avenue des Champs-Élysées is the fashionista’s dream location! Who doesn’t enjoy streets lined with all kinds of high-end shops like Tiffany, Gucci and Louis Vuitton to chic and affordable ones like H&M, Gap and Abercrombie & Fitch. It also houses one of the biggest Haagen-Daz restaurants I’ve ever seen in life! The end of the long strip ends at the Arc de Triumph a simply breathtaking view at night. Tourist life requires being chic and comfortable. Here I’m rocking a hot pink dress with a light plaid button down and gladiator sandals. I love these Joplin shades from Warby Parker, they are a great neutral tone that makes for the perfect accessory to this look. Simple yet never understated!

Notre Dame De Paris in Kincaid Shades
Notre Dame Cathedral was another highlight of my Parisian trip this summer. As a child I dreamed of being an architect and my love for structures with intricate lines and over arching angles has remained the same until this day. This church is magnificent in all it’s glory inside and out! A big floppy hat just wasn’t enough for how bright and sunny it was the day we visited. These Kincaid aviators from Warby Parker are perfect for the occasion in a brushed navy blue tint and shape that differs from your average aviator sunglasses. They definitely caught my eye!

London’s Big Ben in June Moonstone Shades
Sightseeing in London is amazing! The people are friendly, the pubs are filled with great food and music, and an Oyster card gets you a ride on the bus or Underground transit to hang out among the locals who are as diverse as their beautiful city. London to me felt like home away from home. Something about the vibe of this place just immediately put me at ease and I could totally see myself staying forever if it weren’t for the long flight to get back to the states to see my family LOL. The temperature does drop significantly when the sun goes down so travel with a sweater or light jacket during if you are vacationing there during the summer months. Here I’m rocking my chambray head wrap with a denim on denim look and these June Moonstone cat eye shades from Warby Parker provide the added vintage vibe I’m looking for.

Buckingham Palace in Henning Shades
I can just imagine the crowds that surround this place on a daily basis just hoping for a glimpse of royalty. We Americans are so enamored with all things British aren’t we? I would have loved to make it on the inside of this beautiful place. The grounds surrounding it were just as lovely. You cannot make it to London without making your way over to Buckingham Palace and taking a walk through the Princess Diana Memorial Park. My black and white grid cami complete with linen black shorts and gladiator sandals pair well with the Henning shades from Warby Parker in Jet Black with a sleek matte frame.

I made it through my first week at work, whew! (wipes brow). Next week the real work begins, the students come back but today I’m happy it’s Friday!
Camisoles have fast become a closet staple, even when dressed with more casual pieces they always keep your look very chic. They range in price from $10 and up and can be found pretty much anywhere you shop. I’ve newly developed a love for them, thanks to seeing some of my favorite bloggers such as Rachelle, Charnele and Gina rock them. I only have a few in my closet right now but wanted to share with you 3 simple ways you can rock them with some other items in your closet and get the most bang for your buck. What woman doesn’t love a piece that she can remix like new over and over with just a tweak of an accessory, shoes and bottoms?
Inspiration is all around us and a lot of classic fashion staples are making their way back into the lime light. One of my childhood favorites were jelly shoes and they’ve made a fashionable come back since last summer. I recently added a pair of the cutest pineapple jellies from designer Sophia Webster on major sale from Farfetch. If you haven’t heard of this site it’s an international luxury fashion website that features designer pieces from clothing to shoes; stocked from independent boutiques around the world . I was pleased with the speed of delivery and how well packaged my shoes were. Here’s some more style inspiration to get you ready for the weekend!
